A Fabulous Early 16th Century Tapestry Panel
With central pitched roof cottage, with tall chimneys – to the right stands a tree in leaf bearing large fruit, flowers in a garden decorate the foreground, historically known as “Hortus Conclusus”, (enclosed garden).
The style and subject are very similar to tapestries woven in Tournai, circa 1500-1520.
Framed within an 18th century ebonised and reeded frame.
Width 35 inches, height 26 inches.
