A Good and Bold Charles I Oak Joint Stool
The beautifully figured thick boarded top, with a deep single moulding around the edge, secured to the moulded rails which have a shallow bicuspid shape to the bottom edge. The stout legs, with detailed and complicated turnings, joined by all round stretchers.
Provenance – Athelhampton House, Dorset.
English, circa 1630.
