A Late 17th Century Oak Document Box

Of most unusual proportions – quite long and very narrow, perhaps for the storage of rolled maps or plans. The boarded top, opening on its original butterfly hinges, to reveal a slightly oversized “till”, which again retains the original butterflies. The single board front has the original shaped iron lockplate, and shaped hasp.

Good colour and “surface”.
