A Superb Pair of Late 16th Century Carved Oak Panels
Showing two scenes from the Nativity – Adoration of the Magi and the Shepherds.
The panels are carved in the most exquisite detail, by a very highly accomplished craftsman. The clothes, faces, beards and backgrounds are all perfectly executed.
The panels have a lovely “dry” surface and were probably carved in Antwerp around 1580.
