I’ve been building WordPress sites for 19+ years, working as a subcontractor for digital agencies in the UK . The work I take on is the bespoke end: Figma designs turned into fully-custom themes, ACF used extensively for flexible content editing, JavaScript where the design calls for it, and WooCommerce customised to the site’s requirements.

More recently I’ve been doing headless WordPress builds with Astro on the frontend, this site included. I’ve also been building AI features into WordPress: chatbots and semantic search mainly.

How a project runs is up to the agency. I’ll join your Slack or stay on email, attend meetings or skip them, charge a day rate or quote per project. What I ask for is a clear brief and then the room to get on with it.
